Ambassadors, Ladies and Gentlemen, Distinguished Members of Media, you are all very welcome. Today, we want to have a consultation meeting with the ambassadors and the representatives of the G-20 countries as well as international organizations that are represented around the G-20 table. As you have been following, we assumed the Presidency of the G-20 in the beginning of December 2014. Our Deputies and Sherpas already met in December for the first time to make the preparations for the whole year and we are going to be having a very first ministerial meeting, the Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Istanbul, in two weeks from now. We have invited all of our colleagues and I know that most of them will be available to be here.  Then we will be having our second ministerial meeting in the margins of the Spring Meetings of World Bank and IMF. Welcome to Istanbul, welcome to Turkey. It’s our great pleasure to have you all here in this splendid city. This will be the very first Sherpa meeting that is going to be taking place under Turkish Presidency. I hope this meeting becomes a productive one and I also hope that you have some time to see the beauties of Istanbul as well. As you all know, Turkey has the honor of assuming the important responsibility to steer the work of the G20 for one year.  Reflecting its informal nature, the G20 does not have a permanent secretariat. Instead, the G20 Presidency is responsible for bringing together the G20 agenda in consultation with other members and in response to developments in the global economy. Welcome, welcome to Istanbul, welcome to Turkey. It’s our great pleasure and honor to have you all here, for our very first G20 official meeting during our Presidency, during Turkish Presidency. Deputies from G20 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations are here with us. I wish you a very successful two days of meetings, which will be the kick-off meetings. So, I just wanted to stop by and see you here in Istanbul to give you a little bit idea about our government’s approach and also the priorities, which have been already discussed, which have been already communicated. I can say that 2014 has been very very fruitful thanks to our Australian colleagues. They did an excellent job.
