G20 HOME Culture Zone introduces Turkish hospitality, art and culture to the participants of the G20 Antalya Summit

G20 “HOME” Culture Zone

G20 Leaders Summit in Antalya is hosting around 13.000 high level participants including 3.000 media members from Turkey and abroad. A cultural zone called “HOME” has been designed with a view to introduce cultural, artistic and historical heritage as well as customs and traditions of Turkey to the G20 Leaders, high level officials and media members on the occasion of the Summit. Comprising around 2000 square meters closed area and equally sized open socializing area, the G20 Home Culture Zone is located within the compounds of Kaya Palazzo Hotel which also hosts International Media Center.

The main theme of the G20 Home Culture Zone which is open between 13-16 November, is built on the Turkey’s “Home” concept which focuses on Anatolia as a home for civilizations, cultural and artistic richness, as well as peace and tolerance and conveys the message that whoever comes to these lands feels at home and at peace.

The highlights of the G20 Turkish Presidency’s Home Culture Zone include, among others, a tolerance section which displays the heritage of Rumi and Yunus, significant figures in the history of Anatolia identified with peace and tolerance, a unique “Turkish coffee culture” exhibition by Şahin Paksoy, live performances of art of ebru (marbling), calligraphy, tile, telkari, silk weaving and live kitchen shows by master chefs promoting Turkish cuisine as well as daily “Sema” performances by Whirling Dervishes.

The G20 Home Culture Zone which is open throughout the Summit offers a unique opportunity to introduce Turkey’s cultural and social values to a distinguished international audience.
