First G20 Energy Sustainability Working Group held in Antalya

The first meeting of the G20 Energy Sustainability Working Group (ESWG) under the Turkish Presidency was held on 24-25 February 2015 in Antalya.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the G20 members, invited countries and the senior representatives of the relevant international organizations.

Turkey’s G20 Sherpa, Ambassador Ayşe Sinirlioğlu, attended the opening of the ESWG meeting and presented the Turkish Presidency priorities.

This meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss and make progress on G20’s 2015 energy agenda. The discussions took place under five agenda items, namely: access to energy for all, energy efficiency, market transparency, renewable energy, inefficient fossil fuel subsidies. During the meeting, members also exchanged views on the way forward for G20 Principles on Energy Collaboration and the first G20 Energy Ministers Meeting to be held in October in Istanbul.
