G20 Antalya Summit Special Edition Commemorative Stamps

The Turkish Post (PTT) has issued a commemorative G20 Antalya Summit stamp and a first day envelope collection on the occasion of the G20 Antalya Summit.  These stamp and envelope have been circulated for public on the first day of the G20 Antalya Summit, 15 November 2015. During the summit, PTT has established a post office in the International Media Center and provided visitors with an opportunity to send G20 postcards to all over the world. A separate special edition stamp project which incorporates all the G20 Leaders has also been prepared by PTT. These stamps of all leaders have been compiled together in a bigger sheet in the memory of the summit. Each stamp has a picture of a leader along with the flag of his/her country. World Leaders in Turkey for G20 Summit. Global Economy will be discussed in Antalya.

Antalya, 13 November 2015 – The G20 Leaders’ Summit, hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be held in Antalya on 15 – 16 November. Azerbaijan, Spain, Malaysia, Senegal, Singapore and Zimbabwe will also participate in the Antalya Summit together with the G20 members. Approximately 13 thousand guests—of which 2,469 are media members—will participate in the two-day summit. More than 70 meetings, including the ones at a ministerial level, have been held under the Turkish Presidency since 1 December, 2014. The first Energy Ministers Meeting in the history of G20 was held in Istanbul on 2 October, 2015. G20 Turkey: The Antalya Summit is now available for download. As an official publication of the G20 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, the publication is an essential resource for all G20 stakeholders. First Ever W20 Summit in Istanbul called on the G20 Leaders to do more on gender equality and women’s economic empowerment

Women-20 (W20) Summit was held in Istanbul on 16-17 October 2015 with the participation of 36 representatives from 20 countries and two international organizations, namely UN Women and International Labor Organization. Vietnam, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Uganda were among the countries represented in the Summit, specially invited by W20 Turkey in line with Turkey’s priority to strengthen dialogue with the Low Income Developing Countries during its G20 Presidency. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the participants during the opening ceremony and promised to actively lobby G20 leaders at the Antalya Summit to incorporate W20 recommendations in the Leaders Communiqué. G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Gathered in Lima  Ahead of the Antalya Summit

Taking the opportunity of the IMF – World Bank Annual Meetings, G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors convened for their fourth and last gathering under the Turkish Presidency, in Lima, Peru on 8 October 2015. In a working dinner format, Ministers and Governors exchanged views on the latest developments in the global economy and had a final discussion of the key deliverables of the G20 finance track ahead of the Antalya Summit. During the meeting, OECD has presented the recently finalized G20/OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Action Plan, which is one of the most significant deliverables of the 2015 agenda. Ministers expressed their full support to the BEPS Action Plan and endorsed its submission to G20 Leaders for their endorsement at the Antalya Summit. Turkey Hosted The G20 Trade Ministers Meeting in Istanbul

G20 Trade Ministers Meeting was held in Istanbul on 6 October 2015. Turkey became the third G20 country to host the Trade Ministers Meeting, after Mexico and Australia. The meeting brought together the representatives of the G20 members and guests from Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Kenya (the host of WTO MC10), Malaysia (2015 Chair of ASEAN), Senegal (representing NEPAD), Singapore and Spain. The representatives of international organizations namely IMF, OECD, WTO, WB with whom Turkey worked closely throughout the year also participated in the meeting. Trade, with its undeniable impact on global economic growth and sustainable development, is one of the important agenda items in the G20.
