Abbreviation or term Definition
Accreditation The system of identification used to control access to or movement in or around venues and accredited areas. Accreditation is only open to official G20 delegates and media. Registration is not open to the general public.
ACWG Anti-Corruption Working Group, the body co-chaired by Italy and Australia that is charged with advancing the G20 anti-corruption agenda.
APEC Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
ASEAN Association of South-East Asian Nations
AU African Union
B20 Business 20, a group of business people organisations from G20 member economies.
C20 Civil Society 20, a group of civil society organisations from G20 member economies.
DAO Delegation Accreditation Officer, an official responsible for arranging accreditation on behalf of a Delegation.
Delegate A representatives of a G20 member, invited country or official international organisation.
Delegation A group of people representing a member country, official international organisation or invited guest at a G20 meeting.
Deputy An official from a G20 nation responsible for advising their Finance Minister or Central Bank Governor and representing them at preparatory meetings. Turkey’s Finance Deputy is Cavit Dağdaş and the Central Bank Deputy is Turalay Kenç.
DWG Development Working Group, the body charged with advancing the G20 development agenda.
ESWG Energy Sustainability Working Group, the body charged with advancing the G20 energy agenda.
EC European Commission
Engagement groups Non-government groups with whom the G20 works. The G20 engagement groups in 2014 are Business 20, Civil Society 20, Labour 20, Think 20 and Youth 20.
EU European Union
EWG Employment Working Group, the body charged with advancing the G20 employment agenda.
Finance Minister The government minister typically responsible for the national economy and budget. At the G20, Turkey’s Finance Minister responsibilities will be carried out by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Ali Babacan.
Framework The Framework for Strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth, agreed at the 2009 Pittsburgh Summit as a means for G20 members to coordinate policy.
FSB Financial Stability Board
FWG Framework Working Group, the body charged with advancing the G20 Framework for Strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth.
G20 The Group of Twenty major advanced and emerging economies: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and the European Union.
G20 Logistics Taskforce The logistics team located in Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of accreditation, event operations and security for G20 meetings in 2015. The Taskforce is led by Ambassador Hasan Sevilir Aşan.
Guest countries Countries invited as guests to participate in the G20 Summit and other meetings. In 2015 Turkey welcomes Malaysia, as the 2015 Chair af ASEAN; Azerbaijan, Singapore and Spain.Chairs of African Union and NEPAD will also be invited as guest countries once elected.
Head of Delegation (HoD) Leader of the group representing a G20 member country, invited guest or international organisation.

International organisations Global entities with which the G20 maintains close relationships, including the Financial Stability Board, the International Monetary Fund, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United Nations and the World Bank.
L20 Labour 20, a group of labour organisations from G20 member economies.
NEPAD New Partnership for Africa’s Development
OECD Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
Registration portal An online portal through which the delegate and media accreditation process is managed.
Sherpa The appointed representative of a G20 leader at preparatory meetings who is responsible for advising the leader, negotiating on their behalf and guiding domestic G20 policy. Turkey’s Sherpa is Ambassador Ayşe Sinirlioğlu, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
T20 Think 20, a group of think tanks and thought leaders from G20 member economies.
Troika A grouping of the current, immediate past and future presidents of the G20. In 2015, the troika consists of Australia, Turkey and China.
