Third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting Under Turkish Presidency Will Be Held in Ankara on 4-5 September 2015

G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors will convene for the third time under the Turkish Presidency in Ankara on 4-5 September 2015.

The upcoming meeting will be attended by the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the G20 members, invited countries, and the heads and senior representatives of the relevant international organizations.

This meeting will provide an important and timely opportunity to make a comprehensive evaluation of the progress on the agenda and Finance Track deliverables to be submitted to G20 Leaders at the Antalya Summit, and discuss actions required to achieve G20’s ambitions for this year.

G20 Ministers and Governors will exchange views on the recent global economic developments, challenges and collective measures to address them as well. They will also review the progress in monitoring and adjustment of G20 growth strategies and evaluate the way forward for G20 investment strategies. Ministers and Governors will continue their meeting with the international financial architecture issues, financial regulation, international tax agenda and climate finance issues.

On the margins of this gathering, G20 Ministers and Governors will have the opportunity to hear B20 representatives’ perspectives on the 2015 B20 agenda and draft B20 recommendations to the G20 in the run up to the G20 and B20 Summits during a working dinner.

The meeting will be preceded by G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting which will be held on September 3-4, 2015.

Following the discussions of the G20 Ministers and Central Bank Governors, a communiqué of the Ankara Meeting will be issued and shared with the international community.

Prior to the Ministerial Meeting, G20 Finance Ministers will have a joint meeting with G20 Labor Ministers in Ankara on September 4th, 2015. This meeting will enable G20 Finance and Labor Ministers to discuss growth and employment nexus. Finance and Labor Ministers from G20 members and guest countries and high-level representatives of international organizations will discuss strategies to deliver more and better jobs and policies to reduce inequalities to support inclusive growth. Before proceeding with the working sessions, B20 and L20 representatives will present their views on the agenda items. After the conclusion of this meeting, a communiqué will not be released; yet, chairs of the gathering will issue a press statement.
